Motive to Move

Comentários: Motive was easy to set up with our client specialists, and great support during the set up of the program for our company. Any questions or concerns they answer as best as they can, and if it is a new issue they work on resolving it ASAP.

Vantagens:

Great customer support 24/7. They also have a community board where other users can discuss issues or concerns that they ran into on Motive, and how they solved the issue. Motive is active on this as well, answering any concerns as well as they can.

Desvantagens:

The only concern i would say about motive is that it is not a satellite telematics service. In long haul trucking we travel to a lot of areas where there is no cell service, and this leads to issues/concerns with tracking the unit.

Good alternative to the big bulky ELD screens

Comentários: I like the motive ELD app is convenient. You don’t have to get a big bulky screen installed in your work truck and the app is very user-friendly. However, the financial tactics could be better. Inform the customer about the lump sum fee instead of telling them great price.

Vantagens:

You can use your cell phone instead of the big clock screen that you had to get installed in your semi truck

Desvantagens:

The one thing I don’t like about motive is their financial tactics. They’ll tell you a great price, but they failed to inform you that you have to pay a lump sum fee.

Transportation Foreman job just got easier

Comentários: It has been a process to learn the very interactive reporting platform. I can find all truck data + in a minute as well as track the entire fleet at 1 time.

Vantagens:

The support team in specific [sensitive content hidden] are the best I have seen in the industry. They are taking care of all of our needs and we have roughly 10,000 trucks in our fleet.

Desvantagens:

We did not move on from our previous ELD company sooner!

Motive is a great tool to manage your fleet!

Comentários: Overall we are very impressed with Motive and will continue using it to boost our Preventative Maintenance program, lone worker program, and help us to remain compliant with regulations.

Vantagens:

We like that we can see details such as speeds, infractions, hazards, and maintenance items all in one place. Motive helps us to keep our drivers safe, while remaining compliant with regulatory bodies. Our preventative maintenance program has been greatly improved with the notifications of mechanical issues that may arise.

Desvantagens:

The only con to Motive would be when the GPS signal drops. Unfortunately operating out of northern Canada, it can get patchy with reception and occasionally that does affect the performance of the GPS.

Good and bad

Comentários: I have been their customer for almost 2 years. They call me many times and Thats how I got their ELD and Dashcam. Unfortunately trucking business is went to a bad situation and I had to close down my business. Even if I was a good customer and I explained what is going on they didn’t even refund anything. I pay yearly and now they are saying I am in contract with 3 years and I have to pay next year also again because they can’t help anything with. I am advising everyone before you sign up with this company. They are not user friendly as you think. They give lots of wonderful words to make you sign with them but once you signed up they act differently. Beware about this matter please

Service and functionality is good. It never got stuck in between.

About price and contract. Little bit pricey and once we signed with them they are not flexible or user friendly as we think.

The look of the app and website is just dull, with not much color

Comentários: Like I said it's very easy to use and the logbook never glitches and the camera always has quality and easy to get a video when you need one

Vantagens:

The app and the devices never give me any problems as long as been using it. I prepaid for two years and now I don't have to worry about any monthly payments.

Desvantagens:

My old app use to let me change the status from driving or to pc. Motive makes u stop for like 2 seconds before you change toys status.

Comentários: It's been pretty good. I was the one being watched on the camera and am now watching people on the camera. Each side has been good

Ease of use. It is easy to hop on and find a certain individual

Kills our Fleet batteries. We constantly have to charge the batteries after sitting for 1 week

Comentários: Horrible, horrible horrible use so many options. These guys will take your money and never call you back again and then give you random calls acting like they are following up on customer service.

Vantagens:

The staff has no idea what they’re doing. They have no knowledge of their own system. Complete waste of money and time

Staff Knowledge of Devices False assurances Their own team doesn’t even know what devices they have Took me six months to let them know or for them to figure out which device that they need to send me

I would look elsewhere

Comentários: I would honestly look elsewhere if I was in the market to get a logbook. They make it very easy to lock you in and get your logbook connected and your debit card charged. Once that’s complete, they are done with you and wether their machine works or not is beyond them.

Vantagens:

I love how their sales team absolutely bombarded me with emails, calls, voicemail.

Desvantagens:

Their ability to first of all fix a problems that has been identified, second the ability for them to still charge you the money you agreed upon when they are not providing ANY service.

Great for Any Driver

Comentários: We have a very good experience so far. It has been a lifesaver for the logbook record-keeping.

Vantagens:

The features I like most are the real-time tracking, trip history and logbook integration. It makes trucking and managing driver much easier with less hassle.

Desvantagens:

The site is easy enough to navigate with some coaching. A more intuitive format and labeling would be helpful. it seems to take a lot of clicks to access some of the information that should be more readily available, such as histories or reports.

The Good, the Bad and the Evil of Motive

Comentários: Early on they were great, had contacts in the business, would promote them on my Hotshot-USA Resource Network as an affiliate, I found them new business and told my members about them. Earned commissions that they told me were on the way. Got one but never got the rest. When I asked about them they could not tell me anything. As a ELD gateway, they are the premium service and the standard for the trucking business. They have a lot of great features, and fairly easy to use. They may just be too big and global , and need to organize a little better. I like them but I am always looking for another partner to work with, to promote and to eventually use for my trucks. I think they are overpriced and have lost the connection with some of their market.

Vantagens:

When you are out on the road and need customer support, they are always a phone card away and very knowledgeable help. Have all the features and more that a Trucking Business needs, and should implement into their business. Keeps records, reports, and other features so that Governmental agencies, DOT, FMCSA, Insurance entities can share your records.

Desvantagens:

They lock you into service, too expensive, when you need reports or features such as fuel logs, they charge you more and lock you further into the program. When you do pay for an added feature, that you need immediately, such as Fuel Hub, they take their time to install, then they never show you how to have your drivers log in their fuel purchases. When you work with them to promote their product and company, the contacts you have just quit and leave, leaving you without warning and no way to talk to someone. You call and call, leave messages with other departments, personal and no one ever returns your phone calls. Slow to respond or even call back when you need them, however product support and technical support is top notch. They are an Indian based business and most of their support staff is hard to understand or communicate with at times.

Motive

Comentários: we have had problems trying to keep the system up and running and have simply given up on using the web cams. Service has been less than expected

Vantagens:

We were forced to use the ELDs. We did not choose to use them. The drivers found it difficult to adapt to it and have become used to it.

Desvantagens:

The lay out is constaintly changing and for the most part, trying to get assistance is next to impossible. The equipment is unreliable and to expensive.

Best in it's class!

Cons: malfunctions and issues happened too often. Even if Motive representatives try to be nice and react at our issues, our drivers daily report issues of connection and good ELD working. (can not understand why it happened so often).The robot of Motive to start a chat - is not enough smart working, does not offer on first step wanted options (consume a lot of my time until I get the needed solution) and after - annoyingly asks me about a reviewNot in all cases I can download a report directly from the site - they send link on e-mail
