An easy-to-use platform for creating simple websites
Comentários: For your online store, Prestashop is analogous to a cargo ship. If you run a small business, you'll appreciate the ease of use and robust features that Prestashop offers for your online store.
Vantagens:
The front-end experience, including the interface, search functionality, and purchasing wizard, must be intuitive and simple to use. Managing products in the administration area is similarly simple and straightforward. The process is simple enough for a person with no technological background to manage.
Desvantagens:
Theme support is weak when compared to rivals like Shopify and woocommerce. Further, it employs a PHP-based server, making it more vulnerable to malicious software.

A Beautiful User Interface Shopping Cart Software
Comentários: Its a great shopping cart software , it only needs the developer of the shopping cart to make the admin dashboard to be easy to use, then all countries needs to be added by default in their future versions. As for the front end design, its perfect! then
Vantagens:
I so much love its themes because they're so elegant and responsive on all devices. Prestashop also has some nice plugins which are free then i love its product image zoom feature. Then cross-selling products on Prestashop is excellent. Ability to install different languages at the admin dashboard so that the website visitors can translate the store in their respective languages is great.
Desvantagens:
Prestashop themes are expensive and their customer support doesn't respond on time which isn't good enough. All countries aren't installed in the localization section of the admin dashboard which will hinder those buyers from the excluded countries from completing their transactions. Whenever you have issues at the admin dashboard section, you must have a basic PHP knowledge to fix it
good since the fork but it has changed its name; this is the review of the one called prestashop
Comentários:
Last in a series of failed attempts to get a 21st century ecommerce site. I have a 20th century one but hoped for better. Two problems with the open source ones are
(a) Over-large companies funded by venture capital or just ambition, that half-finish a neat project and then sell it half finished and try to cover-up the mistake by selling modules for the most obvious basic things like checkout and shipping. This applies to Drupal Commerce, a lot, to some of the various Wordpress carts, and to Prestashop.
(b) Mission creep by which an app that installs onto shared hosting suddenly becomes too large to run on that host. This applies to Drupal projects and probably to Prestashop a bit too.
So: the experience is the same as with Drupal Commerce and bits of wordpress stuff. i am a lot happier now I am on a forked version of prestashop.
Oh talking of "fork" and "open source", this is a DIY project with some free help maybe on message boards and with free installation from software installers on most hosting, but mainly paid in hours rather than pounds. When i spend money it was on ill-judged attempts to find a one page checkout module that turned-out not to cope with a particular server or to solve the specific problems of the default checkout.
Vantagens:
Separate templates, codes, and html Small and purpose-specific enough to run on some shared hosting (with a cache). Small and purpose-specific enough to teach yourself you to use it (I hoped, although wrongly because of the bugs.) Neat enough to run in its pure form without the need to buy lots of modules in case they help (I hoped, wrongly because of the bugs)
Desvantagens:
Dozens of employees funded by selling modules. Next to nobody fixing bugs because it's not in their interest. Look for a solution to an awkwardness with the default one page checkout, for example, and you see threads years-old with unresolved problems, even when the solution is just a line or two of code. For example the code that shows something of the payment methods before a user has selected a country to confirm the payment amount. Or one I discovered by mistake - if you manage to hack your way through the order form, simplifying it and forcing it to use guest checkout - Prestashop refuses to accept a repeat customer with the same email address. It requires each customer to open an account. The renamed forked version, I discovered while doing this, is fixed; it allows customers to remain "guest" and for two to have the same email address. Changes to the software seem to come down from the top of the hierarchy rather than up from the needs of users. For example version 1.7 has less free built-in features than version 1.6 and a different system for running themes - symphony instead of smarty. As though any shopkeeper wants to know this, or pay module developers to know it so that they can offer cheap or free modules.

Best E-Commerce platform for small and medium size stores
Comentários: I have deployed more than 10 instances for our customers. Installation was supper is and can be done within 15 minutes. Prestashop is very good product for small and medium level stores. I'm not recommending Prestashop for larger scale stores.
Vantagens:
+ Installation is super easy. + Open source + Good documentation and good community support. +Easy to customize + Supported by all major hosting providers. + Tons of themes/plugins developed by community
Desvantagens:
+Paid addons are very expensive. +Support service is not available from the vendor. +NOT scalable ,since not suitable for larger scale stores +Poor performance
Solid e-commerce solution
Comentários: It's a great product, however you do need a developer team to have it fully set up. If you have a dev team, this is the best option since you can have pretty much unlimited customization options.
Vantagens:
Prestashop is a wonderful solution for creating a fully personalized e-commerce website. I also has a wide range of add-ons to complement what you're looking for. This add ons include solutions for gateways for payments, marketing, and design/display.
Desvantagens:
Add-ons can be a bit expensive. Also the learning curve for the admin users can be pretty steep.

Nice ecommerce solution, but lacks some punch
Comentários: I liked Prestashop when I used it, but somehow I missed the extra punch I could have when developing with others platforms. I think it's a good tool, but I prefer others
Vantagens:
It's focused on ecommerce, you can do all kind of projects from business to business to retail with ease, and has a great spanish community
Desvantagens:
Creating content is not a pleasant experience, and extending functionality to it could be complex

Easy to setup your own online store
Vantagens:
-Very user friendly -Easy to install locally for testing purpose -already creates a backend tool for management the store and creates its own mail server to aller any purchase or error that client may have -User control that allows you to set the type of permission the user will have when login on backend -the online plugins store is very complete with fair prices -easy to install and remove module
Desvantagens:
-when showing a error is required to be tech savvy to resolve it other wise the page will be down -you need to know a little of php in order to fix some error
Gets your business online, but not exactly plug&play
Comentários: Overall, despite the fact that addons like premium themes, plugins and modules can be quite expensive, once one learns how to work around the small glitches, it is the best tool around to get an online ecommerce website without hiring an agency.
Vantagens:
Prestashop allows any startup or small business create its own ecommerce platform fairly fast and in its basic form, for free. When properly configured, the basic functionalities will allow for instant deployment of an online store.
Desvantagens:
It is very easy to get excited about the potential of Prestashop, but one clashes immediately with the prices of the themes, modules and plugins needed to get some extra functionalities. Prices can be an obstacle for small startups or small businesses
Ideal for companies of any size that want to venture into ecommerce
Comentários: I started using Prestashop as a Joomla or Wordpress plugin and it was a turning point in starting my ecommerce business. It helped me boost my sales and grow my business.
Vantagens:
Prestashop is easy to use, it does not require great knowledge to install. You can start with free templates and as a basic user you have great options. For users with more knowledge in Web development, it is a good starting point to avoid starting from 0.It can be customized a lot and the functions it provides are one of the most complete.
Desvantagens:
The free templates are identical for the most part.

Prestashop a great tool for start your ecommerce
Vantagens:
It offers the possibility of setting up an online store with a wide variety of integrated possibilities without the need for custom development or buying extensions. If something special is needed, if it is necessary to develop or buy extensions
Desvantagens:
The process of importing a large catalog with images. The process has been greatly improved but it is still complicated.
Alternativas consideradas anteriormente:
still good but woocommerce is far ahead
Comentários: It is good when you start your online bussines. A lot of free and paid templates makes easy to choose preferred design. Almost every payment gateway in the world has a dedicated gateway for PS so you may start your online store in few minutes. But when your shop will rise - it is hard to scale. Especially if you want to integrate it with some external apps (like 3d shopping) - you may hit the wall here. Communication between plugins may slow down your store so it wont be rocket-fast anymore.
Vantagens:
+ easy to install (but not so easy to modify if you dont know how Smarty templates works)+ quick without any enhancements (it is solution just for one purpose - shopping)+ a lot of plugins (free and paid)+ community support is ok (forums, fb groups)+ a lot of payment gateways integrations (paid and free)
Desvantagens:
- just community support - in most cases, if you use many plugins and something goes wrong, every plugin developer says it is not his plugin fault but some other plugin conflict)- TCO for prestashop is not so small as you may thing, especially if you compare prices for Shopify or similar paid platforms where hosting, updates, security and functionalities are included in monthly price- some plugins are written badly so it is hard to find bugs or debug them- closed plugins (via ionCube) mostly without any custom_functions hook to extend functionality- lack of well developed themes (not only by graphics, but mostly SEO/UX/performance optimizations are missing)
the ecommerce software
Vantagens:
prestashop is a perfect software to use when it is a question of selling products virtually. the software helps to build websites too
Desvantagens:
the softwar templates building tools have to be performed
Make a complete and scalable e-commerce site from the start
Vantagens:
It's public domain software and it has a lot of documentation to learn about the developement
Desvantagens:
Sometimes it's a little bit expensive to implement some solutions and personalizations
PrestaShop
Comentários: A good choice open source website development platform for developing of PHP based sites. Support for MySql is superb and very easy interface to configure and manage.
Vantagens:
Super easy to install with no glitches. Customisation is easy and lots of options for payment s, international shipping and secure payment. SEO option is helpful and email automation is configurable easily.
Desvantagens:
If you want to add any module that is very expensive. Design is not that professional and there are issues in scalability.
Complete solution for e-commerce development
Comentários: This has been a great solution for medium brands that process more than 100 orders per month and have some particular functionalitys of management stock with third party shared integrations
Vantagens:
This free software is a complete CMS scalable and cusomizable solution for developing an e-commerce for a brand / client. It counts with a great historical versions and a big community that develops extra functionality like themes and modules so you can search for any solution you need. I see its data base very well structurated and normalized to have a good experience at Query's on them, Very intuitive on that aspect.
Desvantagens:
Since the basic process of e-commerce is well developed, the extra functionalitys that particular customer needs can transform into a big cost installing purchasing modules for it. You need a good capacitation for successful auto - management, and a team of developmentes to customize it and have maintancement.

Simple and Pretty DIY eCommerce website builder for anyone
Comentários: I have been working with Prestashop for many years. It is very simple and fluent and you can ask any problem or question you have in its forums or search for the answer in it.
Vantagens:
There are many modules and templates ready by different developers for this software. You can also easily design a new module yourself or implement your own template. The PrestaShop Management Dashboard is so stylish and simple that you can easily learn to work with it. Adding products and changing specifications to the product is very simple and easy.
Desvantagens:
A mobile and tablet application for Android and Apple requires that managers can easily use it
Works Well Enough, but You're Going to Need Your Wallet Out
Comentários: Nothing. I hated every aspect of it. I plan to be an advocate for not using PrestaShop in the future whenever the topic arises.
Vantagens:
PrestaShop feels to me like a good blend between Magento's robustness and WooCommerce's shortcomings. You have a lot of marketing tools and decent templates, some of them really attractive, actually. I also appreciate the ability to disable the store when needed (had a customer get overwhelmed with orders--no joke!).
Desvantagens:
The architecture is a bit wonky on the back end. If, for example, you're wanting to access the CMS, you find it under Preferences. What do you find there? Page categories and pages in those categories. That's it. I don't even know why it's called a CMS, when PrestaShop *is* the CMS. Lots of little quirks like that. If you want to switch themes, get ready to pay big money. Very few themes are under $100, and switching from one to another doesn't usually go very smoothly (definitely not something you'd want to do live). I had a client with a 2000+ product website on PrestaShop, and it was such a mess, I just moved the whole thing over to WP and have almost rebuilt the entire thing in a month. I think it would be good for smaller shops, but if you get big, things quickly get muddy.
Easy and smart e-commerce engine for small businesses
Comentários: If you are about to start your e-commerce business Presta would be a perfect choice as it is easy to implement and very intuitive in use. Also it is free to download so you don't have to bear any cost at the beginning. Situatuion changes when business grows and you have to make some modifications - Presta is not en elastic tool and any changes costs money.
Vantagens:
- easy implementation, - intuitive interface, - free download
Desvantagens:
- expensive customer service, - doens't go well with big businesses, - hard to modify
One of the best CMS for shopping
Vantagens:
Prestashop is one of the leading platforms for ecommerce, we use it extensively on building custom made shops, but you can really just install it and upload a couple of products and you are done, have a brand new online shop. It's very ease to use for beginners and advanced users alike. It has top knotch addons and modules to be install, free and paid. The dashboard is amazingly simple and you can find all the tools you just by browsing over the top categories.
Desvantagens:
It can be difficult to upgrade major versions, as you have to custom rebuild all your code and modules.
A Platform with Integrated Powerful E-Commerce Tools
Comentários: One of the main benefits of Prestashop is that it is totally free to use. You can get its free design theme right after installing it with a lot of satisfying features. You can add your products easily in it and manage tour store online with many helpful management features of it and achieve your goals. One of the main responsibility of its reporting and analytics features is tracking visitors so that you will be able to know that who are your customers and where they are coming from and what are they buying from your store.
Vantagens:
It is used by more than 1lac businesses all over the world as it is an e-commerce platform. It is supported by more than 41 languages. It is having helpful administrative interface through which most of the complex inventories are easily manageable. A large number of options are available in it for customers to view their chosen products in the shopping cart. A lot of payment systems are also supported in it like Google Checkout, Skrill, PayPal and a lot more.
Desvantagens:
Besides various benefits, it is having a lot of limitations in it such as it is not as much scalable like other platforms that it will not be beneficial for large stores but it is a lot more beneficial and helpful for those businesses that are small or starting their new businesses.
It has multiple options to develop a purchase and sale portal, with good design and good security...
Comentários: I have had effective sales from the web portal, instant payments in addition to good security ... I recommend this system for buying and selling projects
Vantagens:
It has a variety of options to make sales with the client in addition to providing payment options and shipping, I think is one of the most complete systems for this type of purchase and sale pages
Desvantagens:
It is a bit difficult to use at first and it is somewhat heavy on some servers which affects the speed of the web portal, I recommend using a good hosting provider
